Approximately two hours into the plane from Houston to Portland I ran out of patience for Jeff Bridges and The Dog Years. I remembered that I have a blog that I almost never update so I decided to fill some time by writing a new entry.

soundtrack: closer by acres of lions. not really feeling this album but in my endless search for new music I am
giving it a fair chance with one full play through.

at this point Im not sure what I’m feeling. things in nj have been above average lately for the most part. I like my new/old job and the money that’s flowing in with it. I’m happy that I don’t work 3 hours a day and spend 40 total minutes driving to and from there. love life? what’s that? what’s love? but I can’t complain because I’m having fun.

what do I expect from this trip? it will be nice to get away from dirty jerz for a week. I hope that we have a good time since we are sorta going into it with no itinerary. I’m sure it will be fine. I hope the hostel is decent and getting around without a car isn’t too difficult. I already know the weather is going to be gray and rainy I feel as though I am ready for it. I’m more worried that shoe doesn’t like it. because at this point Im like $400 bucks in the hole for this trip and everyone who knows me will tell you I can put that money to use other ways.

A few weeks ago kev, zack, joe and I went up to Delaware Water Gap for 3 days of camping and adventure. These are some photos I took with my phone. We hiked up 2 mountains and were about 20 feet away from a black bear in the wild. It was a fun trip. Check out the pics?

Harriman State Park, NY

A few weeks ago Kev and I drove up to check out Harriman State Park. It’s located right over the NY State border. We made it there in 1 hour and 25 minutes. Stayed up there all day and accidentally hiked 15 miles because without a compass and using a crappy map that we purchased we got a little lost and went very far out of our way. Other than a bad map and poorly marked trails it was a nice park. Very nice considering how close by it was. Attached are a few photos that were taken with my phone and kevs. Please disregard my socks in the pic of me. The grass was high and I’m afraid of ticks.

Acadia National Park, Maine

At the end of May I took a trip up to Maine for 4 days in the camper. We stayed at Acadia national park just outside of bar harbor. We managed to do about 20 miles of hiking trails including Cadillac Mountain, The Beehive, & a few others that I can’t recall the name of right now. I have about 20 more phone pics and now that the iPhone app for wordpress works I will upload them in a few seperate posts when I am bored.

2009 NHL Playoff Picks

I made picks for the NHL playoffs ok twitter but since I’m still paying for this site I might as well keep writig things on it occassionally. I mean i did nfl picks before i even really cared about any sports. So here are my playoff picks for hockey.

Eastern Conference:

Bruins vs Canadiens – Canadiens for the Centennial
Penguins vs Flyers – Penguins
Devils vs Hurricanes – Devils!!
Rangers vs Capitals – Capitals I hope but it’s not looking good.

Western Conference:

Red Wings vs Blue Jackets – I like Steve Mason so Columbus.
Blues vs Cannucks – Blues
Blackhawks vs Flames – Blackhawks need it.
Sharks vs Ducks – Sharks because I’m a Roenick fan

So that’s what I’d like to see happen around the league in Round 1. Stay tuned. I’m going to make a bracket of full playoff picks once I get back to the computer

I haven’t done anything like this in a while. Obviously I paid little attention to detail in the production of the video and the photoshopping of the images. I used some crappy software called “DVD Photo Slideshow” with its built in transitions. Be careful with the volume on your computer because I think the audio is quite loud. Just remember to take it for what it is… somewhat amusing.

Today I ate way too much unhealthy food and I feel bad about it. Especially because I passed on hiking to… Get back in bed? Tomorrow I’m going for a run. Don’t look for me because I’m running somewhere I won’t see anyone I know. Agh, so full and feeling so unhealthy. It is time to get that diet back on track.

The State of my world

After a long talk with an old friend this afternoon I came to notice I haven’t done any log writing lately. Right now I’m in starbucks drinking a coffee and listening to Sinatra. What’s new with life? Well- school is going well finally. I’m excited to go and even more excited to be out of brookdale. I decided that I want a carrier in film production. I have been back and forth on the idea between cinema and photography. I think cinema is my best bet because there are so many aspects of it that play into different aspects of my personality. For example, I can put to use the fact that I think I have an eye for photography, love for music, and have always enjoyed telling a story. But more than anything else movies are the one constant obsession of mine. This coffee is strong. Life is good lately. Better than recent years. It’s getting warmer out so I will be able to spend more time outside. I’ve been using the crazy wind gusts and sporatic rain storms (on top of the 30 degree temps) as an excuse not to go hiking. When the weather gets nicer my attitude will adjust. Making the most of everything. Who will read this? What does it even say? Not much of value. iPhone blogging is rough because there is alot of effort involved in producing a complete thought. Easy listening music of the 50’s and 60’s is amazing. Indie rock has also found it’s way into my life lately. I have another 30 minutes to kill before my math class. Nothing much exciting to say so I think I’ll just enjoy the cliché starbucks coffee house vibe. I will end with a quote from mens health- stay positive, eat healthy, enjoy new music, set and achieve goals. (the secrets to my unbreakable good mood). See you soon blog world!
